Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a bookish meme hosted by Jill from Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we can't wait for.

I never really was one for zombies, but after reading Feed (my review) I was hooked. This is a 2012 debut, and it sounds very good! And the cover looks awesome, even though I have no idea how it relates to the story.

Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard
Expected publication July 24th by HarperTeen

There’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia…

Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—

The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.

And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.

Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including their maddeningly stubborn yet handsome inventor, Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.

I've never really been into zombie books before (especially when I first read the summary of this one), but by now I'm starting to get more comfortable with that genre and really hope to read and like this one. Awesome pick! :)

Me iz feeling shallow today: THIS COVER!!!!!!!

Not sure if I like the brother-has-been-kidnapped-so-I'm-doing-stuff-now plot, but I'll make sure to read some reviews once it hit the shelves and decide then if I'll read it. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us :)

I'm not much one for zombies either. I don't really know why zombie's aren't that interesting for me, but this one seems really popular.

I am so not a fan of zombies. I've yet to read one that pulls the concept off well. However, this book sounds so great, I'll definitely try this book out when it's released! :)
