I'm Going to the London Book Fair!

Most of the time, living in the Netherlands is kind of annoying if you are a book blogger. It means it's pretty much impossible to go to signings, meetings, and other fun blogging stuff. You have to work harder to get publishers to send review copies to you, because let's face it, you're more expensive to ship to. One of the fun parts of living in the Netherlands is that I live just a six-hour train ride from London away.

So when I found out that London is the host of the massive London Book Fair, I was thrilled! It meant I could finally go to one of the big bookish events that all of the US bloggers rave about. It's the BEA of Europe!

After a little while of discussing and weighing every penny... it is decided that I am going to the London Book Fair! I have no idea what to expect, since this is my first time there, and I can't really find other bloggers that have attended. I believe it's only open for public since a year, so it's a little bit less commercially orientated. What should I wear? Which seminars do I have to attend? I have no idea!

So I'm looking for other European bloggers that are thinking about attending the Fair. Or maybe people that have visited the Fair before! I'm looking forward to hear about your experiences (:

Oh, that's such wonderful and thrilling news for you! I hope you have fun.

What I wouldn't do to be able to attend BEA this year... *sighs*

Thanks Asher! I'm so looking forward to it, April can't come soon enough.

Aww, too bad you can't go ): Hopefully you can go next year!

Yey for you! I think unless you live in London itself, it's hard to make it to bookish events. I live 2 hours away on the train and I don't mind the journey it's just that it costs so much! Hope you have fun and can report back for those of us planning to go next year. P.S. all the publishing people I have met are uber lovely so I don't think you ahve anything to worry about.

It totally is! I'm so glad I can go. It really is expensive, but we're just going to make a holiday out of it (: I'm so excited!

I'm thinking about doing a three-day report about the Fair, if I can manage it. I hope next year we can go with lots of bloggers, that would be awesome!

Oh I'm so jealous, take me with you!  Mr Kat just rolled his eyes when I mentioned it - such a party pooper.  And April 18 is my birthday, how perfect would that have been?!

Aww, Mr Kat is mean! He should know that taking you to a place where they give away free books is the perfect place to take you for your birthday! I might have some space in my suitcases to hide you in...

Thanks Megan! If the stories I've heard are correct, that won't be a problem (:

Good that you're coming to join us! I'm conference manager at LBF (which btw is the second biggest Book Fair in the world! ) We have over 400 seminar and events over 3 days, so plan your time in advance. Check out the listings under Love Learning. i was a visitor for over 14 years before working here, so can assure you, you'll be glad you went.  You and 25000 others under one roof! I also run the high level Digital Minds Conference, the accelerator to the Fair, on Sunday 15th April. - it will be amazing this year! Enjoy it all

Thank you for the comment Orna! There are so many seminars that I'm having trouble choosing - the only thing I've decided on so far is that I'm going to see Anthony Horowitz's interview, as I love his books.

It must be amazing to be able to work at such a huge event! I'm very much looking forward to attending. Thanks again for stopping by ^^

Good for you. I wish I was going but I'll only have my book represented under the New Title Showcase. I wish you a lot of success and fun.

Well, that's pretty awesome too Randall! Maybe I'll see it, hehe. Thanks (:

I'd love to go to BEA as well :( That's why I hate living here. x

I'm planning on going there sometime.. And combine it with a big "Let's see America!" trip. But you know, it's a teeny tiny bit too expensive
